Kristen Yielding

Therapist

MA, LPC

Kristen has a collaborative approach and aims to ensure her clients feel supported in their work towards their goals. She helps clients not only address issues, but aims to help enhance their sense of joy and fulfillment along the way. She does this with compassion, non-judgement, and empathy, while sharing therapeutic tools, insight, and encouragement.

Her therapeutic orientation is client-centered, holistic, and strengths-based. She likes to use bottom-up processing techniques, as well as tools from the theories of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and occasionally Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Application of cultural humility, and being trauma informed are also important to her work

Kristen's experience includes working in adult emergency psychiatric services, working with youth and adolescents in residential and crisis facilities, and in the private practice setting as she completed her internship here with Engaging Therapies. She earned her master’s degree from Bradley University in Clinical Mental Health in 2023. Kristen earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Kristen works with adults of all ages and is available in person and through telehealth.
